Kompass has entered an exclusive licensing agreement with the University of Chicago to commercialize its rapid finger-prick hormone testing platform for fertility care.
An alternative to traditional lab testing, Kompass’ platform uses high-sensitivity silicon biosensors to analyze blood-based biomarkers and deliver results in ~10 minutes. The company currently offers four testing panels–designed for IVF and egg freezing protocols–measuring key hormones, including estradiol, progesterone, and multiple thyroid markers.
As demand for fertility care continues to grow, many clinics rely on centralized laboratories or costly in-house infrastructure for same-day hormone testing. By bringing point-of-care diagnostics to fertility clinics and OB-GYN offices, Kompass looks to eliminate additional lab visits, accelerate treatment decisions, and reduce costs.
Having raised $2.7 million to date, Kompass plans to support the development of its hormone testing platform and expand into new diagnostic applications.
