The Media Director will build and lead the media strategy, planning, and buying processes for LOLA, working within a highly collaborative team, cross-functional organization, and agency partners. They will be tasked with delivering a strategic and integrated approach to media in support of all sales channels with a heavy emphasis on executional excellence and measurement, including ROAS and attribution modeling, reporting, and optimization for all media channel spend at each stage of the funnel. This energetic, fast-paced, and collaborative leader will be accountable for building and managing an effective team, cultivating agency partnerships, and responsibly managing a healthy media mix supported by a working and non-working media budget to deliver results for both evergreen and time-bound integrated marketing campaigns.
The position requires a deep understanding of the current, ever-changing media landscape, US target markets and consumers, and subscription and traditional business models, to ensure our strategy is cutting edge and aligned to achieve lofty sales growth goals while building toward our brand vision.
What You’ll Be Known For
- Leading the media team as they implement plans across platforms for always-on as well as launch campaigns; operating as a key partner in preparation for and execution of go-to-market
- Developing and aligning a full funnel media plan to meet the goals for all revenue channels, delivering a detailed media mix (channel level and specific vehicles within), spend levels, and flighting plans for paid and earned media against target audiences to meet business goals, ensuring lead-time accuracy for all planning and buying needs across media channels
- Effectively briefing in and negotiating agency partners and other external vendors; managing media opportunities and contracts with media partners and/or vendors as budgeted
- Creating, collaborating, and aligning with stakeholders (e.g. sales channel owners, creative, etc) on KPIs and methodologies for evaluating effectiveness; developing plans that are cost-efficient and deliver on the marketing objectives
- Providing expertise and continued awareness of the evolving media landscape, sharing knowledge and expertise within the marketing team and with the broader organization; leading the development of new media and partnership opportunities
- Proactively identifying gaps in consumer and shopper insights to effectively partner with Insights team to close knowledge gaps that enable better strategic planning
- Driving competitive analysis and prospective media partner review, assessing and analyzing media availabilities, costs, creative due dates, insertion requirements and specifications, billing terms, added value opportunities, etc.
- Building out media plan proposals, flow charts, media authorizations, insertion orders, and campaign reports for internal and external audiences, including reach/circ/impressions by medium or channel, data for dashboards and financial analysis
- Executional excellence: e.g. manage creative in a timely manner to media partners to fulfill confirmed obligations as assigned
Who You Are
- BA/BS degree preferred
- At least 8 years of direct experience media buying/planning, either at an agency or in-house media team
- Proven planning/buying capabilities across traditional and new media channels
- Expertise in media mix modeling in service of a brand sold in multiple channels
- Strong financial and analytical acumen with a clear perspective on ROAS and attribution modeling in the new age of media
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Phenomenal collaborator, team player
