BAIBYS, an Israeli startup specializing in AI-powered micro-robotics for fertility treatment, has received CE mark approval for its autonomous sperm selection system. The certification will allow the company to commercialize its technology across European fertility clinics.
Founded in 2020 by male fertility specialist Dr. Nino Guy Cassuto and electro-optics expert Gal Golov, BAIBYS has developed a system that combines AI algorithms with machine vision technology to autonomously select and physically isolate ideal sperm cells within minutes. The technology selects sperm cells at high magnification according to World Health Organization (WHO) criteria.
The development comes at a critical time, as male infertility accounts for approximately 50% of all infertility cases worldwide, with global sperm counts showing a 50% decline over the past five decades.
The company plans to begin commercial deployment across European fertility clinics and will conduct clinical trials during 2025. Following its European launch and ongoing seed funding round, BAIBYS plans to expand to the USA and Asia.
The BAIBYS system aims to standardize the sperm selection process while reducing procedure time, potentially improving IVF success rates and reducing birth defects while increasing clinic throughput.
