Maven is looking for an experienced Revenue Accounting Manager to join our growing Finance team. As the Revenue Accounting Manager you will be responsible for providing revenue recognition guidance and documenting accounting positions on complex contracts. You will work cross functionally to develop and enhance our internal processes and systems to drive full compliance with the revenue recognition standard ASC 606. You will have the unique opportunity to build processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and play a key role in the accounting team’s ability to scale in a high growth environment.
As a Revenue Accounting Manager at Maven, you will:
- Serve as the revenue subject matter expert collaborating with Sales, Legal, and Sales Operations teams to review and evaluate the impact of draft contracts for revenue recognition
- Manage the quote to cash process
- Evaluate customer contracts to ensure that revenue is recognized accurately in accordance with accounting standards
- Develop and maintain accounting memos to ensure policies and procedures are in compliance with ASC 606
- Manage month-end and quarter-end revenue close, including reconciliations, related fluctuation analysis and other reporting requirements
- Participate in developing and maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring quality controls over the order to cash process
- Support the implementation of an ERP system ensuring operational efficiency over the revenue cycle
- Partner with FP&A on the monthly revenue forecast
- Partner with the Data team to enhance the process and create visibility into customer billing
We’re looking for you to bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- CPA or working towards CPA
- 5-7 years of progressive work experience
- Strong understanding and application of US GAAP, with a specialization of knowledge surrounding ASC 606
- A positive, optimistic leadership style and collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
- Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills, with a sharp focus on details
Helpful experiences and skills (if you don’t have them, you can learn them with us!):
- Experience in telehealth or SaaS
- Experience with Salesforce, Looker and ERP system
- Experience implementing an ERP or subscription billing system
