HLTH Foundation and Break into the Boardroom (BiB) are teaming up and have just announced their new initiative “Get on Board”. The goal of the program is to help forward-looking investors access the highest caliber of talented women in the healthcare industry, to enhance their portfolio board diversity and performance. The program is funded by HLTH Foundation and free of charge for interested VCs.
While HLTH Is known for its signature annual event, the HLTH Foundation promotes equity, inclusion and opportunity in healthcare, focusing on improving the health of underserved patient populations as well as tackling disparities in the healthcare workforce and innovation community. The Foundation runs CSweetener, a virtual mentorship program for women helping to close the gender leadership gap in healthcare. Break Into the Boardroom (BiB) is a diversity initiative focused on driving gender parity on boards of public, private, and non-profit healthcare companies.
Janne Guinen, Executive Director of HLTH Foundation believes that board diversity besides leading to better board performance will also lead to more and better deal flow. “Women founders want to do business with VCs who show up for gender parity,” she says.
Applications for the new program close on February 15. Selected VCs will receive a curated list of pre-screened women board candidates. To learn more visit: https://hlthfoundation.org/break-into-the-boardroom
