The Sales Planner/Account Executive is a key hybrid role on our Consumer team, working with sales and account management to ultimately drive revenue, as well as owning media planning and their own book of business.
Core Responsibilities / Essential Duties
Sales & Media Planning: ~60%
- Work closely with the account executives and account managers, being their right hand to drive revenue
- Build and plan media packages and campaign recommendations that excite clients with strong performance and optimize our in-app, email and social capabilities and inventory
- Evaluate and develop RFPs, making smart recommendations for media mixes to reach client objectives, KPIs and goals. Utilize media trend reports and research tools to recommend and build campaigns. Manage deadlines and recommend content and custom programs: sponsorship, research, creative examples
- Gather, own and update creative spec data and capabilities, developing plans and insertion orders
- Proactively develop media plans for endemic and non-endemic categories and clients at various price points
- Develop close working relationships and partnerships with with sales, account management and marketing to build, monitor and optimize campaigns
- Analyze campaign results to highlight key learnings and benchmarks, and translate into actionable recommendations, including product improvements and our go to market story
- Review and gather industry and account-specific information to share with team
Account Executive: ~40%
- Build and own a book of business, cultivating relationships with clients at multiple levels at both the agency and client level
- Drive advertising revenue by prospecting, closing new business, managing renewals, and creating media plans & pitch presentations. Generate business through regular outreach to new clients and advertising agencies with meetings, calls, presentations, events, entertainment and other related efforts.
- Meet and exceed a quarterly sales quota by selling in-app display media, video, email, social, and custom advertising solutions
- Develop a strong understanding of Ovia’s mission, products, and advertising opportunities
- Work with internal teams to provide excellent relationship management through regular updates of current campaigns, performance reports and recommendations for renewals and upsells
- Negotiate the terms, conditions, and pricing of advertising campaigns with clients
Requirements
- 3 years minimum in a digital media planning and/or advertising sales role, preferably working as a sales planner on accounts and brands for a millennial and Gen Z female audience. Agency experience a plus
- Ability to translate client objectives into exceptional media strategies and plans, and communicate them clearly
- Experience in media planning and advertising with the ability to develop, present and sell through high level media strategy and marketing plans to clients & advertising agency teams
- Possess a hunter mentality and drive deals from start to close in a new business environment through selling creatively and strategically
- Multitask and communicate efficiently both internally and externally
- A self-starter with an existing track record and network of advertising agency and clients is required
- Solid understanding of advertising and direct marketing performance metrics, and a firm grasp on media research tools and how and when to most effectively use them
- Ability to manage sales pipeline and achieve goals on a quarterly and annual basis
- Digital & mobile sales experience is required. Agency experience a plus
- Programmatic sales, video and/or International sales experience is preferred
- Experience with Salesforce.com, media planning software (Prisma, etc.), Order Management System software (OMS), Excel/Google Sheets is required
- Where comfortable, willingness to travel, as needed, for client meetings and/or industry events
