Thinx Inc., an innovative company that is disrupting the menstrual hygiene and incontinence product categories, seeking a self-motivated Technical Project Manager to lead our replatforming project, keeping the team on schedule, managing dependencies, setting priorities, and creating a smooth and harmonious stream of communication between each department. This individual needs to be extremely detail-oriented, collaborative and process-driven in order to help us lead the way to a more organized and efficient flow.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Engineering, you will oversee an exciting project to replatform our site. You need to possess the ability to synthesize new information and re-allocate workflow and resources accordingly. We need someone with a sense of humor, humility and willingness to embrace ambiguity while they balance all the aspects of the role with grace.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and own project success from initiation to completion
- Prepare estimates and critical path schedules for all phases of the project
- Manage deliverables and track project burn down rate to keep project on timeline
- Facilitate communication across departments—especially between Engineering and Design—and within teams to create alignment and build project cohesion
- Coordinate resources across multiple project initiatives and teams
- Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverables, dependencies, risks and issues to team
- Identify and communicate bottlenecks to staying on schedule, scope and budget, and work with teams to resolve these proactively
- Help establish policies, tools and frameworks to expand and mature the capabilities of the organization
- Act as an internal quality control check for the project, and manage ongoing quality control as well as engage in quality issue resolution
REQUIREMENTS
- No college degree is necessary and we do hire autodidacts and bootcamp grads.
- 4-5 years of work experience, with heavy emphasis on technical project management; ideally with experience on the agency side
- Can handle ambiguity and thrives in fast-paced environments where teams are empowered to make their own decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Highly detail-oriented and process-driven
- Advanced, applied knowledge of Project Management frameworks in both traditional and Agile (Kanban, XP, Scrum) methodologies. Certification is a plus
- Committed to performing at a high level on a consistent basis
- Humility and willingness to roll up sleeves and take ownership of clearing any obstacles the team faces
- Empathetic and adaptable. We move fast and at times things change. Be flexible to gracefully pivot when needed
- Strong technical understanding of software development and experience working with Engineers and Designers
- Experience building roadmaps, project plans and timelines with strong attention to details
