Tia is the next generation women’s healthcare platform bringing empathy and innovation together to help women thrive. Our interdisciplinary team of doctors, designers & data enthusiasts have seen first-hand how women’s needs have been radically underserved and underestimated, and are on a mission to build a new distinctly female care model from the ground up, online and offline.
Tia’s ecosystem of products, tools and services — from the Tia app to the Tia Clinic, a real-world gynecology & wellness practice based in NYC — is connected by a unique, human-centered approach to care that focuses on listening and learning all about women and their holistic needs, from anatomy to emotions, from gut health to getting it on. Tia encourages honest and transparent conversations about patients’ health, both with their care team and their community of members, to help women make independent and informed healthcare decisions with confidence and ease.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced mid to senior level copywriter to develop -best-in-class content for Tia across every touch point of our brand from marketing emails and Instagram stories, to app push notifications to the words that surround the delivery of Tia Clinic test results. Working in tandem with the Tia Marketing, Design, and Events team, together, we’ll come up with exciting and effective ways to help women succeed in their health, through communications that increase their understanding of their own bodies, their rights, and healthcare more broadly. You’ll help us drive effective content series, draft and edit written content, grow our social following, and help develop the Tia voice and presence as the forefront leader in women’s healthcare.
This role reports to the Head of Design. This is a contract role for a minimum of 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week, with the option to extend to a full-time position.
About you
-
- You have 2+ years of related experience working as a copywriter at tech companies or creative agencies.
- You’re a lover of words, writing (and em dashes!).
- You know the difference between content strategy, writing, and editing.
- You’re motivated by the opportunity to “get into character.”
- You are deeply passionate about advancing women’s health, rights, activism, healthcare, and/or wellness.
- You have a genuine curiosity and appreciation about medicine, and do not shy away from understanding science or deciphering dense medical journals.
- You are deeply passionate about voice, tone, and style and understand the role a writer can bring to the growth of a company.
- You are able to separate ego from company and cultural needs.
- You are a self-starter and feel comfortable taking the reins, while working to establish and build trusted relationships and open communication lines.
- You are a true team player. You know that we are a small scrappy team, and you’re happy to do anything from beautifully written articles to taking out the trash if it will help the company. (You most likely won’t have to actually take out the trash).
- You understand that change in healthcare is a marathon and not a sprint.
- You are patient, attentive, and a good listener. You are fully aware that things can’t change overnight, and we cannot operate in a “move fast and break things,” mentality.
- You are happy to kill your darlings. Tia is not a precious-about-what-we-make company. Yes we want things to be executed well, however, we truly value iteration and learning from those iterations. You do not push for unnecessary perfection, but understand when perfection is necessary and required.
What you’ll do
-
- Draft copy that will surface Tia’s marketing, product and clinical communication channels (Instagram stories, event marketing, product copy, blog posts).
- Brainstorm and ideate on ways we can push and continue developing our voice in a way that upholds the different “speakers of Tia.”
- “Ghostwrite” on behalf of the founders, the clinical team and the Company.
- In collaboration with the CEO, develop and refine voice & tone guides.
- Create social posts, blog posts, and emails using designed templates.
