The Integration Analyst’s role is to participate in the planning, coordination, solution development and implementation activities related to the integration of applications and technologies within the organization’s application integration (AI) environment and the deployment of HL7 interfaces with YOUR LAB’s clients (wholesale and retail business channels). Proven communication skills, problem solving skills, proficiency in HL7 messaging, programming logic, data structures, and knowledge of integration best practices are critical to successful performance in this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participates in planning of integration projects and corresponding strategies between business units, clients and development teams.
  • Provides integration environment technical knowledge and experience during the planning, execution, and management of deploying HL7 interfaces to YOUR LAB clients.
  • Provides integration environment technical knowledge and experience during the planning, execution, and management of integrating new application integration technologies into the existing AI environment.
  • Identifies and resolve systems issues.
  • Develops standards and processes to support and facilitate integration & HL7 projects and initiatives.
  • Identifies common patterns and document best practices for integration & HL7.
  • Researches and make recommendations on integration & HL7 products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Participates in integration testing phase of software and applications under development in order to identify and remedy potential problem areas.
  • Assists application software developers and engineers in development of APIs to interact with the AI environment.
  • Builds relationships with software development and engineering teams to gain an understanding of application architectures and required functionality.
  • Builds relationships with vendors of application software deployed in the organization’s IT environment to both learn about and provide feedback on their technical integration & HL7 capabilities.
  • Develops skills in the integration & HL& technologies in place in the AI environment, as well as staying informed on new developments in integration & HL7 technology.
  • Designs, develops, and deploys solutions within the organization’s architectural principles, policies, and guidelines.
  • Assists with problem determination and resolution efforts when operational issues with integration & HL7 solutions arise.
  • Implements audit, logging, and monitoring solutions to provide proactive operational support in the AI & HL7 environment.
  • Assists with identifying opportunities to enhance or improve business processes via integration, or, as necessary, minimize the impact of integration on those processes.
  • Provides guidance to junior members of the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s of Science (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Proven experience in overseeing the linking of cross-functional applications between disparate business units and systems.
  • Experience in HL7 or EDI interfacing
  • Experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping and methodology development, and data mapping.
  • Experience with core software applications, including Outreach, Laboratory, Revenue Cycle, CRM and Accounting.
  • Experience with core system software, including:  Server, Network, Database and Desktop.
  • Background in risk management methodologies as they relate to integration/interfaces and software engineering.
  • Experience with interface engine tools.
  • Knowledge of relational database design and management techniques.
  • Knowledge of XML constructs and schemas.
  • Knowleged of HL7 messaging standards and constructs.
  • Experience with securing integration scenarios using appropriate authentication, authorization, non-repudiation, and data encryption methods.
  • Strong knowledge of system and software quality assurance best practices and methodologies.
  • Excellent oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Able to conduct research into application integration & HL7 issues and products.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
