Our interdisciplinary team of doctors, designers & data enthusiasts have seen first-hand how women’s needs have been radically underserved and underestimated, and are on a mission to build a new distinctly female care model from the ground up, online and offline.

Tia’s ecosystem of products, tools and services — from the Tia app to the Tia Clinic, a real-world gynecology, primary care, & wellness practice based in NYC — is connected by a unique, human-centered approach to care that focuses on listening and learning all about women and their holistic needs, from anatomy to emotions, from gut health to getting it on. Tia encourages honest and transparent conversations about patients’ health, both with their care team and their community of members, to help women make independent and informed healthcare decisions with confidence and ease.

Role Summary:

As the PT MD GYN of a transformative healthtech company, you’ll be the backbone of the care delivery system. Although the reconceived well woman exam will be the core of our service line, you’ll be required to deliver the full spectrum of gynecological services at Tia, from birth control consults to IUD insertions to colpos.

You are integral to the formation and iteration of our technology development cycles. In addition to your clinical role, you’ll have an opportunity to shape the much needed technology in women’s healthcare. You’ll collaborate with our product & engineering teams to share insights and feedback.

Skills:

  • Taking history and physical
  • Create a comprehensive and coherent care plan
  • Interpret and act on clinical labs + ultrasounds
  • You’re adept at providing all gynecology services in the including: STD screens, UTI & Vaginal infections consults, PID, Pelvic Pain, Vaginal Bleeding, Birth Control counseling, Annual Exams and Pap Smears, Hormone / PMS Counseling
  • Basic GYN surgical skills including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, LEETZ, etc.
  • Pertinent and specific understanding of primary care delivery and / or willingness to learn on the fly

Other important details:

  • You have a valid, unlimited license to practice medicine in New York state
  • Hospital privileges at Mt Sinai, preferred
  • We will cover providers Malpractice
  • You’re authorized to work in the US
  • You’ve never been convicted for an act in violation of any law or ordinance other than traffic offenses
  • You’ve never been treated for drug addiction / alcoholism
  • You’ve never had a state or professional license to prescribe or dispense narcotics suspended or revoked

Responsibilities: 

  • Uphold the Tia mission statement & guiding principles of excellent, available, compassionate and holistic medical care
    • Cover all baseline care “bases” — effectively communicating with patients pre or post appointment as needed, execute on patient follow ups and close loop seamlessly and in time-effective manner, conduct lab review as is required / indicated for each patient
    • Take call duty and run as first line of defense for MDs at the clinic
    • Ensure high patient satisfaction but with a regard for the highest clinical quality
    • Show up for shifts, be flexible to changing schedule demands including mornings, evenings, weekends and shifting between four 10’s and five 8’s
    • Practice holistic care
    • Understand and practice under a multiple tools in the toolkit approach
    • Use the Tia tools to deliver patient care in the ways that you are trained to do so
  • Escalating clinical concerns to NY Medical Director when necessary
    • Don’t be afraid to escalate or seek guidance on medical concerns
    • Ensure that when gaps or questions arise, they are communicated and followed up on through the appropriate channels
  • Act as the eyes and ears in the clinic
    • Ensure that comrades are practicing at Tia standards
    • Ensure that established procedures and processes are being followed
    • Ensure that issues relating to patient care, process or training are elevated to the appropriate people
    • Ensure that patients are happy with their care, and strives to ensure that no patient leaves unsatisfied
  • Remain abreast of evolving research and clinical updates in women’s care
  • Maintain licensure and appropriate re-certifications

Requirements:

  • Available to be on call 2 weeks per month
    • evenings begin after 6:00pm (or after 9:00pm)
    • Weekends as needed
  • Available for future weekly full or part day Saturday shifts
  • Available to work 2-3 part day shifts or 2+ full-day shifts during weekdays (approx 20 hours/week)
  • Potential to cover shifts for other providers
