POSITION SUMMARY:
The Practice Manager provides oversight, direction, and management to all facets impacting the operations of the practice. This includes supporting marketing, implementing and optimizing processes, promoting world class patient experiences, developing colleagues in their performance, communicating and effectively managing all practice staff, helping the business thrive financially, and ensuring high levels of colleague satisfaction. The Practice Manager should assume a leadership role maintaining strong relationships with multiple levels within Prelude including practice physicians.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and directs the work of all employees in assigned practice
Supports the practice physician(s) and fosters an excellent working relationship with all practice team members
Creates job expansion opportunities for personnel
Recruits, selects, and trains non-physician staff
Participates in perpetuating and ensuring practice growth
Identifies, recommends, and implements practice needs including, but not limited to: staffing, services, equipment and facilities
Physician/management meetings: establishes agenda in consultation with physicians; prepares data for meeting; contributes to decision-making
Responsible for executing projects / changes as directed by the physicians / management
Interprets management reports / explains nonstandard reports to physicians
Ensures timely reporting to government agencies
Liaison with various Prelude departments as needed to include, but not limited to: Revenue Cycle, Clinical, Marketing, HR, Accounting, IT
Practice marketing with patients; referring practices; with local businesses; and industry
Manages practice within budgetary guidelines
Determines economic aspects of equipment, facility, and new service decisions
Responsible for facilities and premises management
Investigates new equipment and facility needs
Takes part in the development of goals and mission of practice followed by a plan to execute
Solves problems related to physicians, patients and practice staff
Ensures the practice is running efficiently to keep patient satisfaction high
Responsible for keeping practice in compliance with company policy and government regulations
Takes lead making sure the practice goals for profit and loss are met including revenue, expenses and budgeting
Works with Prelude and Marketing Manager to aid in the development and execution of marketing initiatives
Regular and reliable attendance
Perform other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of leadership or management experience in a medical office required
- Proven track record in increasing practice volume and revenue
- Must be fully competent in the areas of: understanding insurance benefits and communicate patient responsibilities, general knowledge of clinical policies, expense management and Human Resources issues.
- Must have working knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance policies (i.e., HIPAA, OSHA, FDA).
