Feminai Pilots At-Home Breast Exam Kit With Midi Health

Feminai

Feminai has teamed up with Midi Health to pilot its AI-assisted at-home breast exam kit.

The healthtech company has developed a breast wearable that uses sensors and AI analysis to assess physiological changes associated with breast tissue density and blood flow – results are shared through an app within minutes.

Currently an investigational device, Feminai’s first in-human clinical trial at Sheba Medical Center showed 96% sensitivity and a 98% negative predictive value. Per the company, “these results support the potential of Feminai’s wearable AI platform as an accessible and reliable breast health assessment solution.”

“Women are telling us they want new ways to engage with their breast health. They’re ready for more accessible, at-home approaches,” said Karny Ilan, MD, Co-Founder and CEO of Feminai. “The problem we’ve spent years working to solve is one they feel too deeply.”

Through the pilot, Midi Health members can opt in to test Feminai’s kit and provide feedback – helping the company assess ease of use, instruction clarity, convenience, and potential improvements.

“Women are ready for smarter, comfortable, at-home breast health solutions,” said Midi Health CEO Joanna Strober. “As the nation’s largest virtual care platform for women, we love collaborating with innovative teams like Feminai to bring these breakthroughs to light.”

The pilot follows Feminai’s $6 million seed round earlier this year to support the company’s regulatory approvals and eventual commercialization.

“Our goal is to make breast cancer screening more accurate, accessible, and affordable—ultimately improving outcomes for women’s health,” Ilan said.
