This person will play a critical role in ensuring all office operations are running smoothly and seamlessly. We are a fast-paced and exciting start-up. This person would be a proactive, enthusiastic, team player who is a self-starter and big-picture thinker.

As an Office and Community Manager, you will be the “go to” for all office related requests and work closely with the People team to ensure efficiency and a positive employee experience. You’ll also be working on strategic projects both independently and in coordination with the People team.

Because the role is so dynamic, you must possess strong business judgment and agility to handle whatever might come your way. You have a passion for organizational efficiency and effectiveness and are a natural people person that has the communication skills needed to deftly handle a wide variety of people, functions and situations. You care deeply about people and teams and want to make an impact on building culture. Most importantly, you can thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing and often ambiguous environment that is a start-up where you often need to come up with solutions or processes because it hasn’t been done before.

Office Management Responsibilities

  • Plan internal office events and act as office culture lead; partner with the People team to lead and manage relationships related to employee engagement including the company retreat and holiday party
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all internal and external office related questions.
  • Evaluate office procedures and look for more efficient ways of conducting processes
  • Take charge of ordering office supplies, kitchen snacks, lunches, etc.
  • Scheduling maintenance and upkeep of office furniture, appliances, building, and equipment
  • Work with building management and maintenance to ensure office safety and communicate information to employees
  • Assist with new hire orientation: assemble company swag & orientation folders for their first day
  • Ensure the office is organized and welcoming to visitors at all times and act as the main point of contact to greet, announce and direct visitors appropriately
  • Organize, plan and oversee logistics for internal events such as birthday celebrations, happy hours, and team building events
  • Organize and maintain kitchen area, including ordering of food to keep the kitchen stocked

  • 2-4 years of experience as an Office Administrator, Office Manager and/or Executive Assistant
  • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues independently
  • A positive attitude and the desire to collaborate across teams
  • The passion to work in a fast paced environment and own multi-functional pieces (office/facilities management, administrative/executive duties) in this very highly visible role
  • Interest in being involved in the organization’s culture and planning fun events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent communication skills with customers, co-workers and management
  • Punctual, regular and consistent attendance, ability to work overtime as needed
  • Self-motivated and personable with the ability to work autonomously and lead project with minimal supervision
