What is localization team
Flo is a holistic health and wellbeing guide that supports and helps women to understand their bodies and minds and make more informed decisions about their health and wellbeing throughout all life stages.
Flo aims to significantly improve the health & wellbeing of every girl and woman worldwide. That’s why we offer localization of Flo main functionality in 22 languages and full experience including content in 10 languages.
The localization team is one of the core ones for Flo. It consists of 7 in-house localization managers and a pool of freelance translators. Its key focus is increasing the value we bring to our users by providing excellent localization service to all Flo teams (Engineering, Content, Marketing, Legal, etc.).
Required Skills & Abilities
- Experience in building and implementing the localization process across various projects for IT companies
- 5+ years of leading localization efforts with complex project/program management
- Deep understanding of SLA’s and agile-principle software development
- Experience managing and growing a team (in house and outsource)
- Analytical approach to work and product mindset- can help the team define metrics for success
- Excellent leadership skills – clear communicator, great cross-functional collaborator, passionate, driven and can drive from strategy to execution while bringing others along
- Deep understanding of LQA software, CAT and TMS systems
- Experience managing vendors and negotiating contracts
- See a problem or opportunity, take ownership and act on it independently; develop methods and habits to be an informed and motivated owner of the problem
- Ability to communicate effectively to executives and internal clients (understand needs, manage quality and deadline expectations)
- Desire to work in a highly dynamic and agile environment
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for leading, coordinating, and supporting Flo’s Internationalization and Localization.
- Manage the Localization team of in-house localization managers; take decisions on the ideal team structure
- Manage localization projects from beginning to end, working closely with localization managers, LQAs, external vendors and other departments to ensure deliveries meet deadlines, are on a budget, and meet release quality criteria
- Develop project plans and workflows, manage time, budget, resources and quality control, analyze project risks, and define/execute mitigation plans as needed, create project management documentation (reports, KPIs, plans)
- Facilitate schedules, operations, and communication between localization team and internal clients (PMs, engineers, marketers, PR specialists, and other) including project kick-off, troubleshooting meetings, run post-mortems when applicable, set clear expectations
- Assign, monitor, and measure project team members’ work. Manage the team’s compliance with standards, practices
- Present regular reports to internal clients on progress and forecast of the project team’s work status, escalating issues and evaluating needed support
- Be the ambassador for the Localization team across the whole company
