LOLA is looking for an experienced Director of Global Sourcing, to own end-to-end sourcing (NPI & Sustaining), including the sourcing and contracting of components and contract manufacturing) services. Your key responsibilities will include
- Manage all sourcing activities through product life in the areas of cost management and supply management;
- Work cross functionally with our Product Development, Insights, and Marketing teams to take products from idea to launch to constant iterations, and;
- Lead sourcing for new product categories as well as supply chain redundancy for key existing product and component categories. Additionally, as a member of the senior team, you will partner with functional peers in setting the business’ strategic and financial plans, to include leading supplier negotiations, developing consistent negotiation methodology, and delivering improved quality performance and financial results.
What you’ll do
- Develop and lead a sourcing process that includes a cross functional team and uses a competitive evaluation methodology of scoring suppliers and reaching team consensus on source selection;
- Build a team of procurement and sourcing specialists;
- Partner with LOLA’s Product Development team and external supplier manufacturing teams to ensure design finalization decisions are made so that product can be effectively manufactured in compliance with all volume, quality, and cost requirements;
- Define and maintain an end-to-end sourcing strategy that meets LOLA’s current and future product design and performance, volume, quality, and cost objectives, while maximizing LOLA’s buying power;
- Develop cost modeling and estimation tools that can be effectively applied to improve LOLA’s design decisions during the product development process;
- Manage ongoing product cost tracking and initiatives to drive product margin improvements
- Develop and implement best-in-class quality control processes and goals for manufacturing, and drive supplier adherence and accountability to them;
- Continuously research and monitor the industry and report on significant activities in the areas of new materials and manufacturing process developments, supplier capacity and R&D investments, mergers and acquisitions, and competitor activities;
- Lead all supplier price, capacity, and contract negotiations;
- Continuously drive supplier manufacturing capacities that support product volume forecasts and commit process;
- Lead regular supplier performance reviews; document corrective actions, assign owners, and follow-through to closure all supplier improvement requirements and actions;
Who you are
- 10+ years of experience in Product Development, Production, and Sourcing roles with 8+ years of experience leading teams in these roles;
- 8+ years experience working with cross functional teams across multiple business lanes;
- 8+ years of experience in finished goods sourcing with suppliers;
- 8+ years of experience with price and contract negotiation skills;
- 5+ years of experience managing a team;
- 5+ years of experience creating, defining, and implementing procurement strategy;
- 3+ years of experience in component and packaging materials sourcing with suppliers;
- You have strong NPI management experience;
- You have a proven track record of quickly learning a new sourcing environment and the ability to understand new technologies;
- You are strong Experience in medical device and ISO governed industry is highly preferred;
- Ability to perform data analysis to drive business decisions – strong at Microsoft Excel
- You are a strategic thinker and results oriented;
- You have demonstrated success delivering improved financial and product quality performance through large scale negotiations for services and manufacturing contracts;
- You have strong experience in managing overseas factory relationships and internal staff;
- You can build lasting relationships with external partners and grow with them;
- You have excellent leadership competencies and can influence others through approach, and subject matter expertise rather than organizational design;
- You have excellent communication and presentation, both written and spoken;
- You have knowledge in machine controls, inspection vision systems, and part handling automation;
- You have experience in medical device and working in an ISO governed industry;
- You have experience with Six Sigma and AQL standards;
- You have experience working with patent attorneys to protect innovative IP;
- You have strong knowledge of and experience in QC/QA strategy and ability to build processes and measure QC success;
- You are able to travel internationally;
- High eQ, “get-it” factor;
- Must be based full-time in NYC or willing to relocate
