Website getcomeandgone Awkward Essentials (come&gone)

No BS hygiene, starting with after sex cleanup

Awkward Essentials is an early-stage startup seeking a Digital & e-Commerce Marketing Manager to help build a hygiene company the world has never seen before. Come grow with us!

This new position will lead, develop and implement disruptive digital marketing strategies, as well as the company’s e-commerce. Significant growth is expected through building awareness and driving sales via digital marketing and a direct-to-consumer (DTC) strategy.

At Awkward Essentials, we believe in innovative, no BS intimate care solutions that keep it real. Our first product, an after sex cleanup solution, broke the Internet and just won’t stop. Now we’re in search of a highly organized, motivated, full time Ecommerce and Digital Marketing Manager to play a pivotal role in evolving and accelerating Awkward Essential’s growth and retention efforts.

We’re looking for someone with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced, high growth environment. We are an early stage startup and you will have the opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the direction of the company, and it’s future success. As our first marketing hire, you will lead (develop and implement) robust and disruptive (we like trying new things) strategies across the digital landscape and our ecommerce website. Since the team will be small initially, you must be both a strategic leader and someone that loves to get their hands dirty.

We go above and beyond for our consumers and this role requires you to have an unapologetic obsession with them and their evolving needs. As we grow, your team will grow with you.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily management of all e-commerce and web operations; combine existing expertise in user experience (UX), analytics, SEO, and product management to deliver a best-in-class brand and shopping experience
  • Develop and implement data-driven digital marketing strategies in conjunction with cross-functional partners to increase brand and conversion metrics
  • Lead the implementation of DTC strategy and customer facing experience (acquisition, web, CRM).
  • Define, pilot, and rapidly iterate customer acquisition marketing strategies
  • Own acquisition marketing, developing and scaling channels quickly and efficiently to drive new customer growth.
  • Institute rigorous test-and-learn methodology to achieve desired results; look at active campaigns vs. predicted outcomes to ensure the most successful campaigns are scaled
  • Implement a customer-lifecycle email marketing plan with a emphasis on driving customer retention
  • Maintain and optimize A/B and multivariate testing frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement across email KPIs including deliverability, open rates, click-to-open rates, conversion rates, opt-out rates, and revenue
  • Manage reporting requests and ongoing analyses for campaign performance, key insights, and strategic learning
  • Drive a customer first approach to all email experiences
  • Effectively partner across the organization: integrated marketing, engineering, product management, merchandising and supply chain
  • Manage relationships with our media agencies, ensuring they are properly briefed and tracking towards our KPIs

Occasionally, your role will fall outside of the general “Ecommerce Marketing Manager” scope and you may work directly with the founder on:

  • Brand strategy
  • Operations
  • Other things! It is a startup and you will have to wear different hats from time to time!

Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing
  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in brand management, marketing, advertising, or communications
  • Experience in CPG (Health & Wellness, Beauty & Personal Care, Food & Beverage)
  • Experience in branded editorial and branded video development
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising social campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Proficient with Google Analytics and Shopify
  • Advanced in at least 1 email marketing software
  • Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience with A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
  • Strong writing skills
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Ability to take great photographs and video a plus
  • Fearless self-starter
  • User obsessed – you are responsive and empathetic with our users and community
  • Open and Effective Communicator

Compensation:

  • Base:  $75k-85k depending on experience
  • Bonus: based on achievement of aligned projects & responsibilities and financial performance metrics

Benefits:

  • Health, vision and dental
  • 25 days PTO
  • Flexible work options
  • All Major Holidays and 2 floating-holidays
  • Winter Break
  • Career development/Continued learning reimbursement
  • Lots of snacks
  • First month of a brand new hobby is on us
  • Kindle Unlimited subscription
  • Team Building
  • Collaborative, fast-paced team environment that offers ownership and autonomy alongside working with super smart, authentic people
