ROLE SUMMARY

We are hiring a Clinical Research Scientist to join our Clinical Science group at Everlywell. This position will be responsible for the scientific design and execution of clinical studies for our internal and external
clinical research programs.  This position will help drive and execute our research agenda to develop and generate evidence to support the value propositions of our Health products. The individual will lead and support all aspects of clinical science from literature reviews and study designs, protocol development and review board submissions, to overseeing study execution and reporting in the context of a broad
product and research program strategy.

Reporting directly to the Head of Clinical Science, you will work closely with Product and Data Science teams to design research that will generate clinical evidence for our health and wellness products. The candidate will work in a fast paced environment, be scientifically curious, effectively problem solve, have the ability to be flexible while ensuring the clinical studies and analyses are executed with the highest quality and rigor. You will be able to thoughtfully develop study designs to address both mechanistic and health outcome-directed clinical research projects. The position requires exceptional analytical skills, solid scientific background, a high level of professionalism, and enthusiasm for staying at the forefront of a rapidly growing area of health management.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and conduct original clinical research to support personalized health products on the basis of consumer test results and health data profiles.
  • Conduct systematic literature reviews and secondary research to inform effective clinical research projects in support of our clinical research program strategy.
  • Contribute to, and lead where appropriate, the writing of clinical protocols and other study-related documents for regulatory purposes.
  • Contribute and execute outcomes research and associated studies that support the clinical, economic, and patient-centered value propositions of our Health products.
  • Co-author and prepare abstracts, posters, and presentations for conferences, and manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed medical journals.
  • Communicate study results within Everlywell and to external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to and collaborate on exploration of Real World Data (RWD) in the context of evaluating product efficacy and safety, clinical utility, health economics, and health outcomes.
  • Work cross functionally with other departments such as Legal, Data Management, Laboratory Operations, and Finance to support Clinical Science initiatives.
Your Education & Experience:

  • A PhD in epidemiology or the life sciences (or Master’s level with 5+ years experience leading clinical research).
  • Multiple peer-reviewed publications in relevant areas.
  • Knowledge of and experience with:
    • Quantitative epidemiological assessments and instrument validation.
    • Clinical trial research methods and large-scale data collection in a regulated environment.
  • A robust ability to design studies that are effective at differentiating multiple potential effects.
  • Ability to synthesize clinical research and communicate ideas clearly and concisely to varied audiences via presentations and publications.
  • Works well independently and with minimal direction at times
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in the areas of presentation and writing.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously, including both long-term and short-term projects.
  • Versatile teammate with affinity for collaborative environment
  • Technical proficiency, creativity, and a growth mindset.
  • Understanding of HIPAA, GCP and the importance of privacy of patient data.
