Market Expansion Services company DKSH signed an agreement to acquire low-dose oral contraceptive brand Meliane from Bayer, expanding its Healthcare Own Brands portfolio into women’s health. The undisclosed transaction is expected to close by the end of Q3 2026.
Available for more than 30 years, Meliane is sold across 30 markets in Europe, North Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Marketed under multiple trade names, the product generated CHF 15 million in net sales in 2025.
The acquisition deepens DKSH’s investment in the category. In addition to expanding its Healthcare Own Brands portfolio, the company also supports commercialization and distribution for women’s health products through partnerships with Bayer and period care brand Enya.
“The acquisition of Meliane further strengthens our Healthcare Own Brands portfolio and reinforces our commitment to Women’s Health as a strategic therapeutic area,” said Patrik Grande, Head Business Unit Healthcare at DKSH. “We see significant opportunities to further develop the brand through our market access, distribution and commercialization capabilities.”
