The Director of Communications is responsible for leading all Communications functions, including External Communications/Public Relations, Internal Communications, Executive Communications, Analyst Relations, and Investor Relations. Reporting to our Head of Brand, this leadership position will establish and amplify Oura’s narrative with strategic and influential outlets, and be inspired by the opportunity to help craft a global brand to become widely recognized and deeply loved.
What you will do:
- Responsible for crafting and driving a global editorial calendar and cadence of thought leadership and news that advances Oura’s corporate narrative with our key audiences.
- Develop programs and advise senior leadership on internal and executive communications.
- Partner closely with our product, customer experience, content, and social media teams to ensure we’re delivering consistent messages to our target audiences.
- Manage the relationships with global PR agencies to deliver impactful results, on-time, on-budget, and that support global growth strategy.
- The ideal candidate possesses strong leadership skills, extensive experience leading External, Internal, and Executive Communications, proficiency with Analyst Relations and Investor Relations, and will bring with them existing and trusted relationships with reputable outlets.
Requirements
We would love to have you on our team, if you have:
- Minimum of 8-10 years in Communications, and experience leading communications functions — including public relations, executive comms, crisis comms, internal comms.
- Demonstrated success in an in-house leadership role. Extra points for experience in health technology industries.
- Strong writer and editor.
- Have trusted relationships with key media, analysts and influencers in Oura’s industry.
- Experience leading external public relations agencies to deliver results.
- It’ll be essential to forge strong alliances with internal partners, including executives, to uncover unique stories that advance Oura’s narrative.
- Strong leadership skills and a consistent track record of leading, mentoring, and motivating.
- Someone who is always looking for ways to take their programs to the next level, and a strong team leader who takes pride in the quality, precision and measurable results of their efforts.
- You’ve mastered the ability to assemble and interpret metrics, create executive summaries and deliver meaningful business insights.
