Aeroflow Health, a technology-enabled healthcare company that connects 1.7 million expecting and new mothers annually with lactation supplies, feeding support, and perinatal education, has acquired Canopie, a digital health company delivering evidence-based preventive care programs for expecting and new mothers focused on mental health and physical wellness.

The acquisition creates a combined maternal health platform spanning supplies, clinical services, education, and mental health support. Nearly 60% of women with perinatal mental health conditions never receive a diagnosis, and a national study of over 2 million patient records found that maternal mental health conditions increase the risk of preterm birth by 50%.

“The addition of Canopie is a natural extension of that vision, strengthening our ability to address one of the most critical and underserved aspects of maternal health: mental wellness,” said Jennifer Jordan, EVP of Aeroflow Breastpumps.

The deal builds on a partnership dating to 2022, when Aeroflow first invested in Canopie after a successful collaboration integrating mental health and lactation support. Canopie has demonstrated clinical effectiveness across populations, with approximately 70% of mothers with identified need showing significant improvement after engaging with its core program, and consistently shows highest engagement among underserved mothers.

“From the beginning, my goal with Canopie was to bring accessible, evidence-based care to every new mother, regardless of where she lives or what she could pay for,” said Canopie founder and CEO Anne Wanlund. “Aeroflow has the scale and mission alignment to make this vision possible.”

The combined company will continue growing relationships with health plans and government agencies, offering measurable maternal health outcomes and associated cost savings. Over one-third of U.S. counties are considered maternity care deserts, with more than 5.5 million women living in counties with no or limited access to maternity care.
