Weight Watchers has partnered with fitness company Pvolve to provide strength training workouts to its members. The collaboration aims to address muscle preservation, particularly for women in midlife and members using GLP-1 medications.

Weight Watchers members will receive access to exclusive Pvolve classes through the company’s Core, Core+, Med+, GLP-1 Success, and Menopause programs, including specialized series for perimenopause and menopause. Members can also upgrade to Pvolve’s full on-demand library of over 1,700 classes and purchase resistance equipment at reduced rates.

Women lose 3-5% of muscle mass per decade starting at age 30, according to the companies. A 12-week Pvolve program showed participants experienced increases in lean muscle mass and improved lower body strength by 19%.

“This partnership with Pvolve builds on our foundation by bringing more strength-forward movement into our ecosystem alongside nutrition, behavior change, coaching, and medical care,” said Julie Rice, Chief Experience Officer of Weight Watchers.

Pvolve founder Rachel Katzman said the partnership aligns with both companies’ focus on supporting people through different life stages with science-backed approaches.

Weight Watchers reported that regularly engaged Med+ members lost 61.3% more body weight than those using medication alone at one month, and 29.1% more at twelve months. The Med+ Program combines clinicians, behavioral science, nutrition, strength-building plans, and coaching for members using GLP-1 medications.
