Product Development Lead

We are looking for a Product Development leader to join our scrappy team. You will lead a core piece of our business and be critical to our success. You will work cross functionally to plan, lead, manage, and execute on critical timelines to bring new products to life. You are comfortable wearing many hats and consider yourself a “generalist” who can easily learn new skills. You are patient and thorough but work with a sense of urgency. You are entrepreneurial and professional, and relentlessly passionate about our mission to support women.

What you’ll do:

Product Development
Lead product development, seeing products through the entire lifecycle– from concept to manufacturing to product launch.
● Steward the continual and collaborative process of creating an annual vision for Natalist products and spearhead its execution.
● Work closely with Natalist’s Medical Director and Medical/Scientific Advisors to make Natalist the one-stop-shop for fertility and pregnancy related products.
● Work with team to source, evaluate, and negotiate quotes with manufacturers.
● Ensure products meet FDA requirements, quality, and ethical standards as outlined by merchant partners.
● Work with cross-functional team members, namely the Design Lead and Director of Omnichannel Operations, to create and follow design recommendations, development timelines, FDA specifications, technical documentation, and all other requirements for the manufacturing of new products.
● Establish specification standards for new products and ensure appropriate controls are in place to deliver those standards consistently to our consumers.

Quality Control
Lead product quality assurance processes:
● Work with suppliers/copackers through all stages of the development process to ensure concept to execution targets are met.
● Manage third party firms to oversee manufacturing inspections to ensure product quality.
● Evaluate efficacy/reliability of any third party curated products sold by the company.
● Work with FDA consultant to ensure compliance

Innovation
Ideate and define new products:
● Develop a knowledge and understanding of current and future industry trends, and apply that knowledge during the development and planning process.
● Retrieve and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and other team members to continually improve existing products and shape new products.
● Work with CEO to perform searches for novel IP and conduct diligence.
● Work with Design Lead to conceptualize new products and to execute user testing to optimize for usability.

Supply Chain and Operations

Work closely with the Director of Omnichannel Operations to oversee the company’s supply chain and fulfillment operations.
● Ensure Natalist’s global supply chain meets its omnichannel sales and distribution patterns.
● Support Director of Omnichannel Operations to help coordinate the freight and delivery of final products to Natalist warehouses.

● Experience in product development at all phases: prototyping, sourcing,
manufacturing, QA/QC, and inventory management.
● Experience in consumer goods.
● Passion for women’s health.
● Experience with medical devices and/or FDA-regulated products is a bonus.
