We’re looking to expand our video editing and post-production team with inspired storytellers. You’ll work alongside a passionate post-production supervisor, producer, production team and fellow editors/storytellers in our Berkeley, CA office. You will be working on our flagship project OMGyes.com to help lift the taboo around female pleasure and sexuality.
The Senior Video Editor is responsible for crafting authentically honest and compelling short videos from documentary-style interviews that impart wisdom to our viewers. From carving string-outs into final edited cuts to creating video content to be used on social media, each edit will begin by understanding a video’s creative concept. Then, using your excellent storytelling skills you’ll create and shape pieces that support our site content.
In addition, you will provide rough and fine cut feedback in meetings with the Post-Production Team and ultimately contribute to an inclusive and communicative team culture.
The right candidate has:
– Extensive video editing experience in Premiere, and an understanding of best practices for edit workflows.
– In-house, company experience in documentary filmmaking, social media video creation or advertising editing.
– Production/shooting/on-set experience and interest a plus.
Responsibilities will include:

Post-Production

Transforming raw video footage into a finished product—with the storyline and purpose of each video in mind, choosing what footage to keep and assembling it into a fluid sequences, varying the camera angles and trimming as necessary

Presenting cuts to the post-production team for review (and eventually for external review), incorporating feedback and taking the cut from inception (v01) to completion (ready to be hosted on the website)

Tracking and noting progress according to established workflow

Managing multiple videos and edits at a time

Creating versions of videos for various social platforms, including captioning, and subtitling projects

Collaborating with editors in feedback and review sessions
