Chief Product Officer (CPO)

We are looking for an ambitious, entrepreneurial Chief Product Officer to help us reach our mission: Making the pregnancy journey convenient and safe for millions of women in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Responsibilities

As the Product Product Officer (CPO) you will be responsible for defining and executing our product strategy. Based on a deep understanding of our clients – pregnant women – you drive and oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from ideation to delivery. This includes defining product requirements, understanding revenue potential / unit economics, feature prioritization, and working closely across teams such as engineering, marketing, operations and finance to make sure your projects run on time and budget. You will report to the CEO.

What do you need to do to get an amazing performance review after the first three months?

• Client insights: Thorough understanding of pregnancy journey, including pain points of Mums, best practice in maternal health, unit economics and market environment
• Execution/leadership: Reach the quarterly product targets, keep up an efficient, motivating team environment
• Product strategy: Develop a product strategy and implementation plan, get key persons on board, define future working mode with the engineering team

Requirements

• Shared vision: The idea of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality makes you excited. You can’t wait to dive into this space and help us create a massive impact.
• Education: You have a degree from a renowned university. Depending on your professional background this can be in business, technology, medicine or a related field.
• Experience: Solid experience in product development is a must. You have created amazing products/services that have scaled. You are used to agile product development and understand state of the art tech tools. Healthcare experience is a plus.
• Strategy: You are aligning the product roadmap with the company’s overall goals and vision. You prioritize initiatives that deliver the most value, collaborate closely with engineering, and drive fast growth.
• Leadership: While you are not afraid to do hands-on work yourself, you enjoy handing over responsibilities and building a strong team as we grow. You are a doer who appreciates fast execution in a team.
• Ambition: You are a highly ambitious person. You like a fast-paced environment, are a fast learner and go the extra mile.
• Humble: Maintain a humble approach, valuing impact and meaningful contributions over status, and fostering a respectful, supportive team environment.
