DESCRIPTION
We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with strong technical and leadership skills and a collaborative nature. We work in iterations with an informal agile approach, using Github as our collaboration platform. You will be part of a well-functioning and diverse team. ROLE
- High level technical leadership of the iOS, Android and Web team
- You will lead and manage the client engineering team ( iOS, Android and Web).
- You will be responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing the team.
- You will work to empower the client engineering team by fostering micro feedback, mutual accountability, shared ownership, and a bottom up culture
- Pushing for best practices inside the respective disciplines aiming at greater productivity, code and product quality
- Own the aggregated vision and unity of the client platforms (android, iOS, web)
- Cross-platform collaboration and coordination
- Collaborate with fellow engineering managers to keep our engineering group healthy, effective, and focused
- Being the contact person between stakeholders and the client engineering team
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize our development team efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
- You enjoy managing people and you have done it successfully before
- You enjoy coaching, mentoring and developing team and individual’s skills
- Able to understand the position of others and accept that your own view isn’t perfect to reach a better outcome
- Demonstrated active conflict resolution even when you are not part of the conflict
- Several years of professional experience developing and shipping mobile apps.
- Knowledge of software architecture and best practices.
- You have experience working in collaborative teams, and understand the benefits of sharing knowledge via pair programming and code reviews.
- You keep up to date with new technologies and the mobile community.
- You know how to facilitate discussions and communicate with different stakeholders
- You care about engineering quality and know how it can be achieved
- You have significant API design and architecture experience
- You have successfully built complex mobile applications with a large user base
- Bonus: test-driven development experience, knowledge of CI systems (Jenkins), dependency management knowledge & experience in regulated software development
