Job Summary:
The Associate Director will have responsibility for the strategy, development and execution of a
comprehensive training program that supports Evofem business objectives for field commercial
teams including sales, market access and field leadership. Responsibilities include designing and
continuously improving training programs that prepares both new and tenured associates for
success. Oversees content development, delivery modalities, effectiveness measurements, and
competency testing for onboarding and continuous learning.
This role will support the fields teams’ knowledge and ability to deliver the solution offerings in
the US including, but not limited to, anatomy & physiology, product knowledge, competitive
landscape, market access, Evofem selling skills model, business acumen and analytics, salesrelated tools (CRM, Concur, reporting, etc.), leadership and coaching.
This role reports to VP, Sales & Marketing and works closely with the Director of Sales
Operations & Analytics, Sr Director of Market Access and Reimbursement, and VP of
Compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
• Adult Learning Expert: Stays apprised of changes in market, solutions, and training
methodologies. Develops new and/or revamps existing training approaches to ensure
sales readiness. Identifies, implements, and maintains “best practices” when establishing training models and technologies that will result in new and innovative
training approaches.
• Designs training strategies and programs focused on immediate applicability: Focus on
driving business goals and initiatives. Drives a common language, approach, and level of
competency across all sales teams.
• Partners with Sales and Marketing leadership: ensuring timely, targeted, impactful
training programs are aligned with sales and business goals. Very attuned to “VOC”.
• Manages and updates key competencies required for sales success as needed; develops
criteria, tools/resources, experiential learning, and metrics for each level: Learner,
Competent, Proficient levels for each competency. Reviews regularly with Sales and
Marketing Leadership teams, and measures impact of this training on success.
• Creates training materials that enhance the learning process; including study guides,
home study materials, assessments, frequently asked questions, competitive overviews,
etc. and works with leadership and HR on follow-up and consequences as appropriate.
• Identifies most efficient distance/virtual learning approaches and cadence, measures
effectiveness and integration of new skills and knowledge.
• Leadership and facilitation of all corporately run training classes and sales meetings.
• Manages the Learning Management System (LMS), and all vendors related to field
commercial training and development resources. Be accountable for the field
commercial personal development resource portal and contents.
• Works with corporate compliance and/or our compliance agency partner to ensure field
commercial employees are trained and up-to-date on policies and procedures that
affect their respective functional areas. This includes corporate QA training for field
employees.
• Partner with Sales Operations to orchestrate NSM workshop content, design and
logistics.
• Coordinates year end evaluation program for field sales based on combination of
territory performance, selling skills and other competencies. Lead for calibration
program at EOY.
• Serves as interim sales or account management as needed with vacancies or leaves-ofabsence.
• Ensures adjacent disciplines (e.g. Marketing) are trained in foundational sales programs
to ensure 1) common approach in developing sales training and resources 2) continuity
of customer experience.
• Oversees Field Trainer program; ensures 1) standardized, consistent, experiential
onboarding for new hires, and 2) opportunity to develop the bench for Field Trainers
post-launch.
• Gathers and analyzes data from direct field observations, focus groups and other
methods to identify potential training gaps and suggests areas for improvement that will
enhance sales performance and achieve commercial goals.

desirable.

effectively aligning resources and activities to achieve functional area and/or
organizational goals.

Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree (science or business preferred) or equivalent combination of relevant
education and applicable job experience may be considered. MBA preferred.
• A minimum of 5-7 years progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical or
medical sales and training, with a minimum of 2 years in a training or sales leadership
role.
• Prior experience in Women’s Health preferred.
• Requires prior pharmaceutical sales experience, first-line pharmaceutical/biotech sales
management experience, and vendor and contract management.
• Experience with product launches and Account Management experience is highly
desired.
Travel: Ability to travel up to 40% overnight.
