Astellas Pharma has purchased a 30-second commercial during Super Bowl LVII to raise awareness about vasomotor symptoms (VMS), which are hot flashes and night sweats associated with menopause. The commercial features actress Carmella Riley asking women on the street about their experiences with VMS. Astellas has a new drug called fezolinetant in the works which treats moderate-to-severe VMS symptoms and has been accepted by the FDA. This is the first time Astellas has advertised at the Super Bowl.
