THINX Inc is looking for a Financial Analyst to be a key business partner to various stakeholders within the company responsible for preparing financial analyses, maintaining current financial reports, and providing context and insight around the data. The Financial Analyst will support in developing methodologies to determine the effectiveness of initiatives on Sales, Gross Profit and Expense

The ideal candidate should feel comfortable juggling multiple projects and working cross-functionally. He/she should be self-motivated, detail-oriented with a passion for learning, and finding innovative approaches to answer questions.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with financial planning, budgets, forecast, reporting and analysis using Financial planning & Budgeting tool for the company
  • Prepare monthly analyses of business trends and variances of financial results and Key Performance Indicators to be used in management reviews and strategic business analysis sessions.
  • Work with business finance teams to develop in-depth analysis of the business performance and recommend action plans; including GAAP closures, considerations for managing cost, growing revenue and profitability. Provide superior “value-add” analysis of results, specifically identifying, quantifying, and explaining variances to forecasts and budgets
  • Create performance reports, including business insights, ad-hoc analysis and recommendations to Senior management.
  • Create profitability/costing models, monthly / quarterly board decks, dashboards, ad hoc presentations and partner on strategic projects to analyze specific aspects of the business. Ad-hoc requests should be met promptly with clear and concise analysis.
  • Drive continuous process improvement in Financial planning.
  • Deliver accurate output in a timely manner.
  • Embrace change and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Build strong relationships across functions within the company and maintain an open flow of communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applied field, e.g. Mathematics, or Finance/Accounting with a desire to work in a business setting
  • 2 or more years of relevant work experience in harmonizing data to create useful metrics and KPI’s
  • 2 or more years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis (both at corporate and business unit levels).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced MS Excel skills (Logical formulas, Lookups, Pivot Tables)
  • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Proven ability to synthesize analysis of large data sets into impactful summaries
  • Experience with technology in the workplace; e.g. reporting tools, data mining tools
  • Demonstrated success working in a deadline-driven, multi-task environment
  • Experience using Adaptive and / or NetSuite would be an added advantage
