Senior Data Analyst

You are a clear communicator. You can present findings effectively and concisely in a variety of formats and to a variety of audiences. You are equally comfortable in business group discussions and technical engineering meetings, and often bridge the two.

Ro is high-growth startup and personal growth is a top priority on the Ro Data Team. Everyone is given the support they need to get their work done and grow rapidly as individuals. Several days a quarter are dedicated solely to technical training, either self-guided or through external classes. All positions on the Data team are high ownership positions.

The Data Team at Ro encompasses Data Analytics, Data Science, and Data Engineering. We do everything from data model design to core ETL/reporting to company-wide data training to complex analytic frameworks to business deep dives to experimentation design to hosting ML model APIs for Ro’s apps to query.

All data at the company, both first-party and third-party, is centralized in our data warehouse and fully interconnected. The Data Team’s stack is rooted in AWS and Snowflake. We’ve carefully engineered our setup to require minimal ETL and database maintenance.

What You’ll Do:

• • Own analytic projects/goals that may involve a number of groups at the company
  • Insightful, actionable analysis that is unquestionably solid and stress-tested
  • Manipulate raw data into robust analytic frameworks
  • Define requirements with business stakeholders and engineers, which often includes translating between groups with different perspectives and vernaculars
  • Raw data discovery and stress testing, often with engineers from across the company
  • Delivery of analyses to business departments in an effective, ergonomic form

What You Bring to the Data Team:

• • SQL, Python (or demonstrated coding ability), Unix dexterity
  • Demonstrated success owning complex analyses that start from low-level data, involve a number of company groups, and drive business decisions
  • Demonstrated communication skills: visual and written
  • ETL experience; numerical dexterity
  • Basic practical statistics around significance, experimentation, etc.

Bonus Points for:

• • Experience in a high-growth startup
  • Demonstrated experience designing data models
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with back-end and infrastructure teams
  • Basic ML skills (Regressions, Random Forests, etc)
