According to a recent article in the San Francisco Business Journal menopause focused femtech startup The Cusp has abruptly ceased all operations on Dec 7. This comes as a bit of a surprise as the startup had just announced the expansion of its services to 7 states in the United States. The Cusp was founded in 2018 by Taylor Sittler and has raised $4M in funding from ANIMO Ventures, Homebrew and Village Global. The company has notified patients that all of The Cusp’s features will be disabled as of Dec 17. As per the report the company had to end operations after running out of money and failing to raise additional funding in time.

Asked to comment on the abrupt shutdown, the company said in a statement: “While we had momentum on our side and had found product/market fit with our hormone test, we couldn’t find the right investment partners in time to sustain the costs of running the business in the near term.”
