Join us for an evening of education and inspiration as we discuss the business impact of stigmatization in women’s health!

About this event

Many entrepreneurs in the women’s health space face stigma, when building their companies just like the women they want to serve often face stigma, when trying to access health care.

In today’s fireside chat we are joined by Dr. Louise Klintner, who explored the destigmatization of stigmatized products, specifically menstrual products, in her thesis ‘Normalizing the Natural’ and will share her insights with us. She is now employed as an Advocacy and Communications Specialist at The Case for Her, a philanthropic investment portfolio addressing the key women’s health issues of menstruation and female sexual health. Here, Louise applies and expands her knowledge of the menstrual health space, while continuing to carry menstrual product standardization forward.

In this session we will discuss the origins of stigmatization in the context of women’s health, when and how destigmatization actually occurs and what role organizations, including entrepreneurs, can play in affecting institutional change.

The event will be moderated by Femtech Insider founder Kathrin Folkendt.

About our Guest

Louise Klintner has a Ph.D. in Business Administration. In her thesis ‘Normalizing the Natural’, she researched the factors that contribute to the destigmatization of stigmatized products, and specifically menstrual products.

In addition, Louise has been avidly involved in the early phases of menstrual product standardization since the beginning of her time as a Ph.D. student in 2016, when Louise discovered that although menstrual products are used on or inside the body, there is an astounding lack of regulation and standardization regarding content safety. This prompted her to initiate a standardization process together with a working group coordinated by the Swedish Institute for Standards, SIS.

Louise is now employed as an Advocacy and Communications Specialist at The Case for Her, a philanthropic investment portfolio addressing the key women’s health issues of menstruation and female sexual health. Here, Louise applies and expands her knowledge of the menstrual health space, while continuing to carry menstrual product standardization forward.
